Microzide is a diuretic used to lower blood pressure and prevent heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.
Common use Microzide is a moderate thiazide diuretic medication which decreases reabsorbtion of Na+ at the level of cortical limb of Henles' loop not influencing its segment located in medullary layer of the kidney. Mechanism of its treating effect on lowering of high blood pressure is not well understood.
